Fingerprint recognition with OCT

OCT ile hatasız parmak izi tanıma teknolojisi.

According to the study by Darlow et al. published in the  J Electron Imaging journal, using the  OCT technology three-dimensional and high-precision fingerprint identification can be made.  It is necessary to increase the sensitivity in this technology in order to eliminate the errors that may occur in fingerprint recognition, which is an important field of security technologies. In the current technology, the area defined as “inner fingerprint” and considered as the most sensitive tissue specific to the person needs to be drawn manually. However, with the newly defined technology, OCT can accurately display the region called “papillary junction”, which enables automatic detection of the internal fingerprint. Darlow et al. stated that with this technology, the margin of error in fingerprint recognition technologies will be much lower.
