OCT2, the new OCT platform developed by Heidelberg Engineering, was put into use at the International Space Base. Spectralis (Heidelberg Engineering), the first OCT device to go to space, has achieved a new first. OCT 2 Module Spectralis was delivered to the International Space Base and started to be used from astronauts. The new module can scan much faster and take images with higher resolution than the Specratlis OCT, which was sent to the International Space Base in 2013. This project is of great importance in terms of showing the changes that can occur in the human eye in low gravity condition.
